Forbes magazine ranked the Lancaster MBA 7th in the world and 3rd in the UK in its 2011 ranking of the best non-US one-year MBA programmes. Forbes uses Return on Investment (ROI) as the main measure.

Three quarters of Lancaster University Management School’s research activity has been assessed as world leading or internationally excellent in terms of originality, significance and rigour, and virtually all its research (95%) is of international standing.

In the Financial Times 2013 ranking of the top 100 global MBA programmes, one of the factors taken into consideration is doctoral rank. In this the LUMS PhD and doctoral programme is ranked 12th in the world, and 2nd in Europe, based on a combination of the number of PhD graduates and where they were employed after graduation.

The Guardian University Guide 2013 ranked Lancaster 7th nationally and first in the Northwest.

Lancaster University was ranked 11th nationally and first in the Northwest in the Complete University Guide for 2014. Lancaster is ranked first for Marketing, and 7th for Business and Management Studies.

The Times Good University Guide 2013 ranked Lancaster University 12th nationally and first in the Northwest. Accounting and Finance was ranked 7th, Business Studies 7th and Economics 17th in the subject guides.
