Lancaster Management school – and more specifically the Organisation Work and Technology Department – provided me with a solid foundation to my career. I have used both knowledge and skills learnt during my three years at Lancaster on a daily basis in my work.
On graduating with my BA in Management and Organisation (HRM) I joined the Kingfisher plc Management Training programme. While on the programme I studied for a Masters and also for the Charterd Institute of Personnel and Development professional qualification.
Over a five and a half year period I have undertaken corporate, international and operational roles. I am now working for AstraZeneca plc in Human Resources, as part of a business unit leadership team, and once again the experience and grounding that I had at Lancaster is paying dividends.
The lecturing team at LUMS had the personal touch. They were interested in me and in my personal development, ensuring that I was able to optimise my potential by investing time and effort to work with me to broaden my knowledge, understanding, technical and soft skills sets, and, most of all my, breadth of thinking.
