'The Management School has a fantastic range of courses, from the academic to the practical, which helps you to build up a brilliant foundation for many working environments.'

I decided to come to Lancaster on the strength of its business school. When I came here I realised it was so much more. The environment and courses allow you to develop yourself with guidance from staff,  but also help you to learn how to be independent.

The Business Studies programme has taught me determination and drive - which I may not have received at other universities. The Management School has a fantastic range of courses, from the academic to the practical, which helps you to build up a brilliant foundation for many working environments. In general the lecturing and seminars have been to an exceptionally high standard, although I may be biased!

On completion of my Business Studies degree, I joined the Marks and Spencer graduate training scheme, mainly because I felt it will be exciting to work in an environment of change. I also believe that a graduate role will allow me to build further on the knowledge that I have acquired at Lancaster University Management School.

From my experience of looking for employment in an increasingly difficult job market, it’s clear that the Lancaster University Business Studies degree really helps to make you stand out. The range of skills you gain, and the calibre of the other LUMS graduates, help to get you on to the first step of the ladder. I would recommend the Business Studies course very highly and I would also recommend Lancaster University generally.
