After careful investigation and consideration of many renowned universities in the UK, I chose to study at LUMS for my undergraduate degree. Without a doubt, Lancaster University offers a perfect blend of highly-rated higher education, peacefulness and fun. The University’s reputation for teaching and research excellence won me over from the beginning. Lancaster University is also the perfect place for teenagers leaving home for the first time and wanting to go to a warm, friendly and promising environment.
The Accounting and Finance degree has provided me with ample opportunity to acquire a broad portfolio of skills as it offers a wide range of economics, management, and computing related options. The course has enhanced my powers of enquiry, critical analysis, time management and problem solving.
In the first year of my studies at Lancaster, I was the web-editor of my accounting group. In the second and third years I was the student course representative for the Accounting & Finance Department. In all the years of my studies I also worked for the University as a tour guide during the open days for prospective students.
I have now joined Deloitte & Touche in Cyprus, where I started my ACA training in September 2009. I am totally convinced that studying Accounting and Finance at LUMS has been the first fundamental step for a life-fulfilling career in management.
