MSc Finance, 2007
Country of origin: Iran
Employer: Global Investment House

After completing my MBA at Sharif University in Tehran, I joined a regional investment advisory firm. I specialised in credit rating and worked in this field for almost two years. Then I realised that I needed to widen the scope of my knowledge in finance and experience a truly international environment.

I chose Lancaster University's MSc in Finance over other options because of the high rating of the Management School and the outstanding ranking of the MBA programme.

The quality of teaching and presentations were excellent and each course had something new and interesting to offer. The School provides students with access to extensive academic or professional resources and databases which not only facilitated my research, but also affected my employability significantly.

The residences and the campus area were perfect for a student lifestyle and the Lake District’s attractions were easily reachable for a weekend get-away.

After graduation, I joined the asset management department of the regional office of Global Investment House, one of the largest investment banks in the Middle East. I am responsible for managing portfolios of stocks with different sizes and my studies in Lancaster give me a real edge in my job. I would recommend this course to anyone who is eager to enhance her/his career and expand the network of social and professional friends internationally.
