After studying Electrical Engineering in the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki I decided to join a doctoral scheme in order to develop further some research ideas on queueing theory. However, I wanted to look this issue from a more applied and broader perspective, thus I was looking for a Management Science department.
The Management School at Lancaster University has the highest research rating in UK. Moreover it was the only one able to accommodate my interests.
The lecturers in the Department of Management Science were very friendly and always willing to help and give valuable advice. The co-operation with my supervisor, Dr Worthington, was excellent. Overall I believe the staff in the Department of Management Science, together with the doctoral students, form a scientific community whose ideas and implementations have considerable impact in the business world. I also had the opportunity to teach to undergraduate students and gain working experience.
