I was so lucky to study in a university like Lancaster that has such a good academic reputation in my field: finance. During the three and half years of my stay, I had little doubt that Lancaster University Management School was the right place to do my PhD. I was impressed by the depth of knowledge and the enthusiasm for research displayed by the professors in the Department of Accounting and Finance - and by the supportive, responsible and polite approach I received from all the staff I met on campus.
During my PhD research, I benefited a lot not only from the excellent supervision provided by my supervisors, who are very academically respectable in their fields, but also from the many discussions with other staff and colleagues in the department.
In addition to the research training, the department also provides valuable teaching opportunities for its PhD students. Apart from the exceptional academic environment, I also appreciated the living environment in Lancaster. It is a very beautiful and cosy town with extremely friendly people. It's also close to the Lake District, which is the most famous national park in England.
With a PhD degree from such a world-ranked university, I was offered a job in a very good university in my home country, Taiwan. I initially worked as an assistant Professor in National Central University. I have recently been appointed to an academic position in the School of Management at the top University in Taiwan, National Taiwan University.
