I came to Lancaster University having already completed courses in business and finance and worked in several large organisations. Even with this background I was amazed at the range of fascinating sociological and theoretical approaches to studying management and organisations presented on the BA in Organisation Studies.
My degree in organisation studies has challenged my previous assumptions about the employment relationship and organisational life, as well as giving me an excellent grounding in academic research which still informs and guides my work today. I have since completed a PhD in the University’s Sociology department.
I have stayed at the University, and am now a research associate in the Centre for Excellence in Leadership, whose research activity is based at LUMS.
