Year in North America, Asia or Australasia

Both of the Department's single major schemes – in Economics and in Business Economics – have variants which offer students the chance to spend their second year studying at a top university in the USA, Canada, Hong Kong, Singapore or Australasia.

During your year abroad, you take a series of courses similar in scope to those you might have studied at Lancaster, but the marks you gain at the partner institution count towards your final degree assessment. The LUMS International Office gives advice and support both before and during the year abroad.

Admissions to these schemes requires a higher level of entry qualifications. However, if we cannot offer you a place on this course, you will automatically be considered for the corresponding standard degree – you do not have to list both courses on your UCAS form. Qualification for the year abroad will also depend on your first year performance at Lancaster.

To find out more, see the full list of current partner universities and comments from students who studied at some of these institutions.
