Why study Marketing at Lancaster?
Marketing is at the centre of what businesses do. It helps organisations work out how they can identify and satisfy customer needs using strategic thinking, business acumen and carefully designed communications.
Most people know that marketing is about creating great brands that people want. Take Mars, for example – great advertising campaigns, great communications, great products, clever pricing and position strategies. But this is only half the story.
At Lancaster we can help you develop a smarter view of marketing; learning about all the services and business relationships that go into helping organisations identify and deliver great products and services, such as:
- Building good supplier relationships to ensure the quality of products
- Harnessing the core capabilities of other firms so that you can be innovative and develop new products that customers want
- Understanding consumers so that you can match new products and services with changing customer needs and wants.
In the 21st century marketing professionals need to understand both business and consumer marketing. Our degrees are designed with exactly this objective in mind.
