Quadrangular PhD Conference 2011
20th & 21st September
The Quadrangular PhD Conference is an annual event between Cambridge University, Lancaster University, University College Dublin, and LSE.
This year will be the fifth annual event and will be hosted by Lancaster University.
This year’s conference takes its name and focuses from the department of Organisation, Work and Technology.
In previous years, The PhD Quadrangular Conference was organised through a thematically-focussed 'call for papers'. This year the invitation to PhD students was left open to thesis-specific proposals. This was a means towards inclusivity and accommodating changing trends in research. From this 'open call', three sessions of focus have emerged:
- Innovation, Technology and Organisation
- Practice, Policy and Organising
- Knowledge: Managing, Sharing, Impacting
In addition to these sessions being a useful platform for the PhD participants to present and receive feedback on their work, they also provide an account of the current research interests developing across the four institutions.
