STEP

STEP is a UK-wide programme supported by various Government bodies, offering undergraduates work in small and medium-sized companies or community organisations. This allows students the opportunity to gain some valuable work experience, whilst helping the organisation to deal with a business problem.

Students usually undertake business or technology related projects. They get support from a STEP business advisor and receive a training allowance of £170 per week tax and national insurance free.

For more information please visit the STEP website at www.step.org.uk

LUMS undergraduate Matthew Roberts talks about his experience on the STEP programme in 2002.
