'Getting to know you - Success through Networking and Innovation'
The Institute for Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Development at LUMS will be the host for the September 2004 Corporate Venturing conference.
Agenda
The Lancaster conference will be chaired by Sir Paul Judge, with the morning format comprising speaker sessions which shall include:
• Welcome from the chair
• Keynote address - Lord Sainsbury, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Science and Innovation
• Small number of other speakers, such as Professor Damien McDonnell OBE (Chief Executive of the Ministry of Defence, Defence Diversification Agency), a discussion with Professor Paul Wellings (Vice-Chancellor of Lancaster University) on research commercialisation, and the UK’s North West Development Agency
Following lunch, the afternoon will then be split into three workshop sessions addressing ‘spin-in’, ‘spin-out’ and technology commercialisation.
• The spin-in focus will be about institutionalising access and integration with SME innovation with some input and support from people within organisations with practical experience. The workshop will be chaired by Greenhouse Ventures with confirmed panel support from Cable and Wireless, Lloyds TSB Strategic Ventures, Intel Corporation and Shell International
• The spin-out session will focus on the development of internal innovation and the subsequent issues associated with implementation. The workshop chair will be shared by Procter & Gamble with British Telecom plc, Flagship Training Limited (BAE Systems and Vosper Thornycroft JV), Philips International and the BBC as confirmed panel members.
• Technology commercialisation will be chaired by the DDA with panel members from Rolls-Royce plc, BAE Systems plc, DuPont Corporation and Motorola Corporation.
