Abstract: SIMPLE is an ESRC-funded project in which a low-tech, problem-focused approach is taken to designing statistics’ modules. It is an attempt to design a response to a pedagogic issue faced across Management and Social Science, that of trying to make the use of statistics accessible to often-reluctant students. This session provides an introduction to the philosophy underlying the construction of SIMPLE and an opportunity to see how some modules work.
