On Friday 18th February 2011, Lancaster University Management School (LUMS) will be holding a Virtual Open Day for anyone who wants to find out more about our postgraduate programmes. This is an opportunity to talk to admissions and programme staff and to ask any questions that you may have about our programmes.
Who is it for?
The open day is for anyone who is interested in studying one of our postgraduate programmes, especially if they are not able to visit Lancaster University; as it is all online, you can attend easily without travelling anywhere!
How does it work?
The open day will take place online, on a website devoted to the event. Within the website you will be able to chat to the people involved and each other in real time.
In order to take part, you will need a computer which is connected to the Internet and a web browser; if you can view this page you probably have a suitable web browser.
When will it happen?
The virtual open day takes place between 9.30am and 2.00 pm, GMT. There are different sessions, depending on which programme(s) you are interested in.
The theme of the discussion will vary according to who will be present at the session; you are welcome to ask any questions during the sessions.
You can take part in as many or as few of the sessions as you like. Each session will start promptly at the times detailed below (all times are GMT). To join the Virtual open Day, please click on the relevant link next to the session that you would like to attend:
How do I take part?
The 'meeting rooms' will open approximately 15 minutes prior to the start time. In the ‘Enter as Guest’ please enter your full name. There will be a 15 minute setting up period to allow people to become acquainted with the room. As you enter the virtual room you will be greeted by the host who will help you set up any audio. We recommend that you use headsets to minimise background noise whilst communicating in the room. As you enter you will see some instructions please read these carefully.
If you are using a headset or microphone, please make sure that you connect this to your computer before you enter the room.
