Supporting your learning
Every programme participant has a coach whose role is to help mobilise thinking, challenge assumptions and support personal growth. You will have your first meeting with your coach after the third module.
In addition, delegates form action learning sets to which they bring issues that they are currently facing in heir organisations. Through a deliberate action learning process the delegates draw on each others experience to explore these issues and develop possible solutions.
Modules
Module 1 Personal Mastery
The purpose of this first module is to establish a cohesive cohort of leaders with a clear set of shared ground rules. You will be guided through a powerful reflective learning process in the Lake District, designed to help you to think about the realities of your current position and your future personal development. > more about the Personal Mastery module
Another important focus is on the different ways in which people learn, and you will be asked to reflect on your own personal leadership experiences and ways of both leading and learning. You will begin a learning journal, drawing on the personal learning material presented during the module, and this will form an important resource for the later modules of the programme and the linked assessment.
Regional action learning sets are created during this module.
Module 2 Leadership
Here the focus is on leadership as a 'learned' experience. The personal development agenda started in Module 1 is continued, using leadership theory and experiential exercises. You will also be exploring and debating concepts of transactional and transformation leadership.
Module 3 Leading People
The focus of this module is the practice of leading. The module introduces a transactional analysis approach to the leadership of people. This module is very practical, with delegates gaining many useful leadership skills and tools.
