Double degree with Lingnan College, Sun Yat Sen University in Guangzhou, China
The Lancaster University Management School and Lingnan College, Sun Yat Sen University (SYS) 2 + 2 programme was established in 2008 in response to a market need for students wishing to pursue a specified undergraduate degree course of study at Lancaster University. The programme has been progressively developed to include a wider range of degree schemes. It is particularly attractive to students who want to study in a university that is committed to, and experienced in internationalism.
It is expected that the first 2 + 2 students will complete their first two years tuition with SYS during the academic year 2009/10, and hence be expected to join Lancaster in September 2009.
The programme has been developed to include preparation during Years 1 & 2 for students to enter the following degrees at LUMS:
BSc Economics
BA Business Economics
BSc Management Science
BSc Operations Management
BSc Finance
BSc Finance & Economics
"We are delighted to have been able to develop this programme with Lingnan College. Over the years we have had a number of graduates from Sun Yat Sen University coming to complete their Master degrees at LUMS and we are looking forward to welcoming their undergraduate students in the near future," said Dr Radka Newton, LUMS coordinator of the programme.
Entry requirements for this programme are as follows:
- achieve an overall band of 6.5 in the International English Language Testing Service Examination (IELTS) with a balanced profile across the skills and no score falling below 6.0, or the equivalent on TOEFL (i.e. 580 or 237 on the cbt or iBT 95)
- successfully complete all examinations and assessments in the first two years at SYS, gaining an overall score of at least 80% on the subject-specific courses agreed by LU and SYS
