The First LSIS National Practitioner Leadership Research Conference 2009
Over 100 researchers and delegates attended and presented their research findings at the first LSIS National Practitioner Leadership Research Conference held at the Park Plaza Hotel in London on February 25th and 26th.
The event provided an ideal opportunity to: discuss practitioner research findings and
their implications for leadership policy, development, and practice; highlight the impact of the CEL/LSIS practitioner research programme and how it has made a difference in organisations and communities; encourage collaborative partnerships, networking and the sharing of good practice; reinforce the sector’s ownership of the programme; and identify key themes for future research.
The bulk of the conference was taken up by presentations delivered by the practitioners who have conducted funded CEL/LSIS research projects and published research reports on leadership-related themes over the past three years. The presentation workshops were based on the following research themes: Distributed Leadership, Employer Engagement, Equality and Diversity. Leadership Excellence, Leading Quality Improvement, Learner Voice, and Talent Management and Leadership Development.
Many delegates, from all over the UK, commented on the high quality of the presentations and the excellent organisation of the conference.
