Entry requirements

Applicants for the MA in Human Resource and Knowledge Management should have, or expect to hold, one of the following types of degrees:

  • Management and Business Studies, Social Sciences (for example Sociology, Psychology, Applied Social Science) History, Philosophy, English, Languages Arts or other Humanities with very good grades, equivalent to 2.1 or GPA 3.2 or better.

Work experience is beneficial, but not compulsory. Yet, although work experience is not a compulsory admission criterion, it is always an important asset.  We encourage all those who work in management and are interested in developing their careers to apply.

For those applicants for whom English is not their first language, we ask for proof of competence. We accept the following:

  • British Council International English Language Testing System (IELTS) with a balanced score of at least 7.0, or
  • TOEFL iBT 100 (*UKBA requirements include minimum scores in the TOEFL test) or
  • equivalent acceptable qualifications. We also accept Cambridge Proficiency Certificate in English (grade C).

We may also recommend the four-week pre-sessional English Language and Academic Study Skills course delivered through the University's Department of Linguistics and English Language.
