The Lancaster Masters in E-Business & Innovation (EBIN) is a unique multidisciplinary programme designed to help students to understand and shape innovation in e-business and e-commerce brought about by Internet, mobile, and multimedia technologies.

Programme focus

The EBIN programme focuses on skills and knowledge required to maximise the potential of modern information technologies for innovation in business. To achieve this goal, the EBIN programme has been designed as a holistic experience with an equal balance of business and technology topics and with a focus on online and Internet businesses.

Scholarships

We have a number of EBIN scholarships available to help you fund your studies.

The EBIN programme is jointly organised by Lancaster’s Management School and Computing Department, both of which are internationally recognised centres of excellence in their respective discipline. The programme also draws on expertise from the Institute for Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Development, the Business Enterprise Centre and Infolab21 (the University’s research, development and business centre for ICT).

Programme highlights

The EBIN programme provides an outstanding education with a unique integration of theory and practice:

  • Practice-oriented teaching based on case studies and real-world examples ensures a tight integration of theory and practice.
     
  • Company-based dissertation projects provide students with the opportunity to tackle real-world problems for real clients as part of a 10-week consulting project.
     
  • Teaching partnerships with SAP and IBM have been set up to deliver practice-oriented modules on technology topics. EBIN525 'IT Architecture' is a unique module taught by IBM software architects that introduces EBIN students to the principles and methods of developing high-quality architectures for large-scale enterprise systems. Our alliance with SAP, the world's largest business applications software company, allows students to learn industry-leading ERP applications as part of EBIN501 'E-Business'.
     
  • Regular guest lectures provide insights into business and technology aspects from the perspective of entrepreneurs, managers and developers.

Scholarships available The EBIN programme has a number of scholarships available for UK, European and international students.

Who should apply? The EBIN programme is designed for everyone interested in shaping business and technology innovation, as part of fast growing start-up companies as well as large-scale organisations.

Successful students will be well equipped for a career as:

  • Business and technology consultants focusing on e-business, e-commerce, and enterprise applications.
  • Project managers responsible for the delivery of technology and business solutions.
  • Business and technology managers influencing e-business and e-commerce strategies.
  • IT architects specifying or developing enterprise-wide IT solutions.
  • Entrepreneurs establishing their own innovative companies in the IT and online sector.

The EBIN programme is open to everyone with an interest in the intersection of business and technology. A background in business, management or computing is preferable, but not essential.  Entry Requirements.
