Module 409: Dissertation
The dissertation is the keystone of the Masters in Advanced Marketing Management.
The dissertation process requires the integration of the key intellectual skills of critical & integrative thinking developed throughout all the modules, with the philosophical perspectives & research skills to which students are exposed in the methodology classes [MKTG 402], in the in-depth investigation of a specific topic in marketing. Various types of field research, organizational project or library based dissertations are possible. The dissertation is the single largest piece of assessed work on the programme and constitutes one third of the overall mark.
A student’s submission will consist of such dissertation, project or assignment as shall be acceptable to the Board of Examiners. Where relevant, the length of narrative textual material in a submission (i.e. excluding tables, graphs and statistical appendices) will not exceed 25,000 words.
Students will only be allowed to undertake the dissertation once they have satisfied the Board of Examiners that they have achieved a satisfactory level of performance in the taught courses.
Students are allocated an academic supervisor who helps to scope, plan & facilitate the student’s research.
