Entry requirements

Applicants for the EMBA programme will normally need to have the following:

  • good first degree (typically at least a 2nd class honours) from a recognised university, or a degree-equivalent professional qualification
  • at least five years' professional/managerial work experience
  • two good references from your current employer, one being from your immediate line manager
  • a satisfactory interview with a member of Lancaster's admissions team.

If you meet the requirements above but do not have a degree, you may be admitted subject to satisfactory completion of the Lancaster EMBA Admissions Essay and interview with the Programme Director. Please contact us for further details.

English language requirements

If your first language is not English and you undertook your higher education outside the UK, you will normally have to demonstrate English language capabilities – for example, by achieving a well-balanced IELTS score of at least 7.0, or a TOEFL-iBT score of at least 100 (please note that UKBA requirements include minimum scores in the TOEFL test).
