Making your application
- To apply for the MSc ITMOC, the related MRes ITMOC or any of our Masters programmes, you will need to use the University’s online application system.
This allows you to track what stage your application is at within the admissions process.
As part of your application, you have to nominate two referees who can comment on your suitability for the programme. The referees should be people who are able to comment on your academic ability and your professional experience.
You will also need to supply with your application an official copy of your degree transcript, plus any other supporting documentation required, such as English language test results. See Entry requirements for details.
Closing date for applications
Although we do not have a formal closing date, demand for places on this programme is high – we typically receive around five applications for every place. You are therefore advised to apply early: before the end of April if you require a visa, and otherwise by the end of June at the latest.
If you are considering proceeding subsequently to a PhD and wish to be considered for an ESRC 1+3 studentship, you should send in your application before 12 March.
Offers of a place
All applications are acknowledged as quickly as possible. If we offer you a place, please respond to that offer within four weeks. If this is not possible, please let us know.
If you accept an offer of a place, you will be asked for a tuition fee deposit to confirm your place. This deposit is later deducted from the tuition fees payable at registration.
Finding out more
At intervals throughout the year virtual open days are held, to enable all potential applicants, wherever they are based, to talk to the programme team about the programme and how it fits their needs and career plans.
There is also a School-wide Postgraduate Open Day at Lancaster once a year (usually in February or March), where you can talk to staff about any of the School’s Masters programmes.
If you would like to talk to the Programme Director or current students before applying or deciding to accept a place, we will be pleased to arrange this for you.
Applicants based outside the UK may like to talk to a member of staff at one of the overseas recruitment fairs we attend.
