Design-driven Innovation in IS-IT

Module leaders: Dr Patrick Stacey and Dr Paul Ralph

This module is designed to cover the key topics and frameworks that are used in design-driven technology innovation. It introduces you to various models of design thinking, practice and management, as well as considering the context of these dimensions in IS/IT innovation.

It aims to build your skills in applying design-driven innovation thinking and models, and to increase your understanding of management practices in IS/IT. It should enhance your ability to reason critically about IS/IT design and its place within organisations. You will also learn how to leverage and manage open innovation collaborations between different parties, and will become more adept at managing the process of design and innovation.

You will be encouraged to put your own thinking into action in a series of design workshops in the latter part of the module, where you will work together in teams.
