Making your application

This allows you to track what stage your application is at within the admissions process.

As part of your application, you have to nominate two referees who can comment on your suitability for the programme. The referees should be people who are able to comment on your academic ability and your professional experience.

You will also need to supply with your application an official copy of your degree transcript, plus any other supporting documentation required, such as English language test results. See Entry requirements for details.

Closing date for applications

Although we do not have a formal closing date, demand for places is high. You are therefore advised to apply early – before the end of April if you require a visa, and otherwise by the end of June at the latest.

If you are considering proceeding subsequently to a PhD and wish to be considered for an ESRC 1+3 studentship, you should send in your application before 31 March.

Offers of a place

All applications are acknowledged as quickly as possible. If we offer you a place, please respond to that offer within three weeks. If this is not possible, please let us know.

If you accept an offer of a place, you will be asked for a tuition fee deposit to confirm your place. This deposit is later deducted from the tuition fees payable at registration.

Finding out more

Throughout the year, we hold a series of virtual open days to enable all potential applicants, wherever they are based, to talk to the programme team about the programme and how it fits their needs and career plans.

There is also a School-wide Postgraduate Open Day at Lancaster once a year (usually in February or March), where you can talk to staff about any of the School’s Masters programmes.

Applicants are also welcome to visit the Department of Management Learning and Leadership for informal discussions about the MA and to see the various campus facilities. To arrange a visit, please get in touch with us. Similarly, if you would like to talk to one of the programme tutors or current students before applying or deciding to accept a place, we will be pleased to arrange this for you.

Applicants based outside the UK may like to talk to a member of staff at one of the overseas recruitment fairs we attend.
