Funding and scholarships

Funding for participants on the MA in Leadership for Sustainability comes from a variety of sources. Some of those who undertake the programme are self-funding, others are sponsored by their employers.

Departmental bursaries

Each year the Department of Management Learning and Leadership is able to offer a small number of bursaries in the region of £750 per annum for self-funded applicants. These are normally awarded on the basis of financial need.

If you who wish to be considered for a bursary you should include with your application a reasoned case as to why the bursary is needed.

Applications for bursaries can only be considered after your application has been reviewed and an offer has been made, but you should note that the deadline for bursaries for allocating bursaries is 31 March each year. It is therefore important to ensure that you submit your applications and all necessary supporting documentation at least three weeks before this date so that your papers can be processed before the deadline.

Other funding sources

The University has a number of postgraduate scholarships and grants: details are available from the University's Postgraduate Admissions Office.

Self-funded applicants may wish to consider the Professional and Career Development Loan (CDL) scheme, run by the UK government in collaboration with a number of major banks. For further information on how this scheme works and eligibility requirements, see the directgov web pages on career development loans.
