MAMLL Discussion Event 2007
7th June 2007 sees the fifth annual Discussion Event organised by the Department of Management Learning and Leadership at Lancaster University. The intention of the discussion event is to examine current issues and leading research in the areas of Management, Learning and Leadership. Researchers and practitioners from the field of Management Learning will introduce the ideas, interests or issues that currently most pre-occupy them and invite dialogue and responses from those present in self selecting discussion groups.
We are pleased to announce the speakers at this event will be;
Dr Steve Kempster (Lancaster University Management School) "Leadership learning as an apprenticeship"
Joan Keevill (Lead Learning Consultant with BBC) "Managing people in the BBC – can we realise the strategic vision?"
Dr Kiran Trehan (Lancaster University Management School) "Dancing in the Dark – A Critically Engaging Waltz"
The event is held at Lancaster House Hotel within the University campus. Lunch will be served at 12 pm and the discussions will start at 1 pm. The day will conclude at 5pm with refreshments and final plenary session.
At the end of this one-day event managers will have developed new ideas about how to improve performance through management learning and leadership. The registration fee is £80 per person (£40 for alumni of DMLL).
The seminar series is organised in association with our part-time MA programme in Management Learning and Leadership (MAMLL). This two-year part-time MA provides the stimulus for exploring and improving practices at all points on the management learning and leadership spectrum, from instigating policies and strategies, to their operational delivery, design and implementation. Places are still available for the October 2007 start.
