Making your application
Applications for MAMLL are accepted throughout the year but we recommend that you submit your application by 31 July at the latest as the programme starts in October each year. Early application is definitely advisable if you wish to be considered for one of the programme bursaries.
Application process
To apply for the programme, you will need to use the University's online application system, which enables you to track the progress of your application.
As part of your application, you have to nominate two referees. These should be people who can comment on your suitability for the programme, both in terms of your academic ability and your professional experience. One of your referees should normally be your immediate line manager.
Supporting documentation
The documents you will need to upload in support of your online application will usually include:
- transcripts of previous higher education (college/university) degrees or other courses that you have completed/for which you are currently studying.
(Note that, for transcripts in languages other than English, a certified English translation will be required.) - references
- copies of English language test results, if your first language is not English – see Entry Requirements for further details)
Offers of a place
We try to respond to your application as quickly as possible. If you are offered a place, please respond to our offer within four weeks. If this is impossible, please let us know.
If you accept our offer you will be required to pay a small deposit to secure your place. This deposit will be deducted from the total tuition fee due at the start of the programme.
The fee deposit is not normally refundable, but will be reimbursed in the case of conditional offers where applicants have not been able to meet the entry requirements or if those coming from overseas have not been successful in visa applications.
Finding out more
Applicants are welcome to visit the Management Learning and Leadership Department for informal discussions. To arrange a visit, please get in touch with us. Similarly, if you would like to talk to one of the programme tutors, current students or alumni before applying or deciding to accept a place, we will be pleased to arrange this for you.
The Department of Management Learning and Leadership holds an annual Management Learning and Leadership discussion seminar (normally in May or June), where prospective applicants or those who have already accepted a place on the MAMLL programme can meet departmental staff and alumni.
There is also a School-wide Postgraduate Open Day once a year (usually in February), where you can talk to staff about any of the School’s taught masters programmes.
Applicants based outside the UK may like to talk to a member of staff at one of the overseas recruitment fairs we attend.
