Objectives

Management decision-making is characterised by complexity and uncertainty. People are often unclear about what they want, what they need or what is possible. They may disagree about what they are trying to achieve and how to do so. Problem structuring methods provide a way to facilitate decision-making in these circumstances. You will be introduced to the main concepts needed to understand problem structuring methods and so will gain an appreciation of their usefulness. This course will help you to develop your thinking skills as well as developing practical skills in problem structuring.
