SAS, the world leader in business intelligence software, supports the Masters programmes in the department of Management Science and sponsors two student prizes.

Students on all three Management Science Masters programmes have the opportunity to learn about data organisation, data cleaning and arrangement and modelling by fully utilising the analytical tools of SAS and SAS enterprise miner. SAS is used on the SAS Programming for Business Analytics module.
One of the SAS prizes in 2006 was awarded to Blake Gravenor with the best performance on the taught programme where students have to use SAS analytical tools using real data from organisations for their coursework. A second prize was awarded to Melpomeni Gkofa who extensively applied SAS analytical tools for data fusion and modelling whilst working on her dissertation for Barclaycard. She now works for the same company.
