Scholarships and funding (2012 entry)

A number of scholarships, up to the value of half fees, will be awarded to high quality applicants to the MScs Operational Research and Management Science, Logistics and Supply Chain Management and Management Science and Marketing Analytics.

Scholarships will be awarded on merit and the selection process will take into consideration the following criteria:

  • academic ability
  • industrial experience
  • personal circumstances

Category of awards:

Academic Excellence Scholarships
UK, EU and Overseas applicants with an outstanding academic profile will automatically be considered for this award.

Regional Scholarships
Scholarships are awarded on merit to applicants with a strong academic profile /interesting background. All appropriate applicants will automatically be considered for this award.  In particular, we will consider suitable applications from Africa and South America.

Scholarships for UK/EU students for Masters study in Operational Research

The EPSRC has awarded a substantial amount of funding to the Department of Management Science for MSc in Operational Research and Management Science scholarships.

These scholarships will be allocated to highly qualified UK applicants to cover fees and make a contribution of up to £12000 to living expenses. Suitable EU students may be awarded a scholarship to cover fees.

If you apply for the MSc, and fit the UK/EU residency criteria, you will automatically be considered for one of these EPSRC scholarships.

The Robinson scholarship

The Robinson Scholarship is for an overseas student from a developing country studying on the MSc in Operational Research and Management Science. If you come from a developing country and are interested in finding out more, please see our separate page on the Robinson Scholarship.

Other sources of funding for overseas students

Professional and Career Development Loans

A Professional and Career Development Loan could help you pay for learning that enhances your job skills or career prospects. It’s a bank loan, so you’ll have to pay it back once you’ve left your course. However, you don’t pay interest for the period when you’re in learning. Bank loans

UK residents studying on the three MSc programmes qualify for bank loans at advantageous rates.
