Making your application for the MBA

Entry to the Lancaster MBA is very competitive. The programme begins in October. You are advised to apply before the end of May as places on the programme are limited. You should also note any particular deadlines applying to scholarships.

You can apply online or by post.

If you wish to apply by post, you can download the application and reference form, or contact us and ask for a form to be sent to you.

As part of your application, you have to nominate two referees who can comment on your suitability for the programme. The referees should be people who are able to comment on your academic ability and your professional experience.

Selection process

Applicants from within the UK

We require all UK-based applicants who meet our admissions criteria to attend for interview at Lancaster. This also enables you to meet faculty members and current students, hear more about the programme, and tour the Management School and University. There are also opportunities to meet faculty at the various UK-based MBA Fairs.

Applicants from outside the UK

We aim to interview all suitable applicants who are based outside the UK, either face-to-face or by telephone. You may find it helpful, in advance, to consult the University's agent in your home country or to attend a recruitment fair locally.

Offers of places

We will inform you of the decision on your application once we have received and evaluated all supporting documents, test scores and interview feedback. Incomplete applications will not be evaluated. If we offer you a place, we ask that you respond within in three weeks of receiving a formal offer letter and that you pay a £1500 deposit. If this is impossible you should contact us with details of when you will be able to make a decision. An offer is only valid while there are places available on the programme.
