MBA scholarships

For the 2009/10 programme, the Lancaster MBA is offering five types of scholarship. In each case, you can only be considered for these once you have already been offered a place on the programme.

The Lancaster MBA Academic Excellence Scholarship

The student who achieves the highest academic standards during the MBA programme will be reimbursed one half of the fees they have actually paid.

The Dean's Scholarship for Outstanding Promise

One special scholarship is available to a candidate whose scholarship application demonstrates exceptional leadership qualities, outstanding academic performance and who has achieved a balanced GMAT score of 700 or above. The award will cover up to two-thirds of the current tuition fee.

Closing dates: 12 March 2010 and 14 May 2010 (two rounds of scholarship selections)
No decisions can be made until after the closing date. Applicants will be notified of decisions within a month of the deadline.

The Lancaster MBA  Leadership Scholarship

A number of scholarships up to £5,000 are available for self-funded candidates from any part of the world. In awarding these scholarships we will be looking for evidence of exceptional leadership qualities in your career to date.

Closing dates: 12 March 2010 and 14 May 2010 (two rounds of scholarship selections)
No decisions can be made until after the closing date. Applicants will be notified of decisions within a month of the deadline.

Lancaster MBA Open Scholarships

A number of scholarships up to £3,000 are available to self-funded candidates. Selection for these scholarships will focus on the insights provided on how your past performance in your career to date or current circumstances justify scholarship support.

Closing dates: 12 March 2010 and 14 May 2010 (two rounds of scholarship selections)
No decisions can be made until after the closing date. Applicants will be notified of decisions within a month of the deadline.

Lancaster MBA E-Fellows Scholarship

Designed for German-speaking students and sponsored exclusively for members of the German website e-fellows.net, this merit-based scholarship provides a tuition waiver covering upto a maximum of 50% of the programme fee (equivalent to £8250, approx €11,000). The selection process focuses on the leadership skills or potential demonstrated by candidates in their academic and/or professional life.

Key external awards

British Chevening scholarships

The British Council offers scholarships to students, preferably already established in a career, from countries with whom the UK's economic relations are expected to develop. These are available for any academic subject. Selection of candidates is carried out overseas by British Embassies and High Commissions in consultation with the local British Council.

Contact either the British Embassy or British High Commission or British Council office in your home country. The closing date for applications is July of the year before you intend to start your studies (eg July 2008 for entry in September 2009).

USA Fulbright awards

American citizens with a minimum of 3.5 GPA in their Bachelors degree can apply for Fulbright awards specifically for MBA students.
