The Career Management Programme is a key feature of the Lancaster MBA. The programme runs throughout the entire year, with regular presentations and talks, practical workshops and individual careers consultations for all students.

Making the most of the consulting project

The Lancaster MBA Summer Project can provide excellent networking opportunities – its value in enhancing your CV and helping you to make the next career move should not be underestimated. Internet resources

We use the internet extensively to give our students (and alumni) access to the best web-based resources. The Lancaster MBA has its own secure, password-protected, interactive MBA WebBoard for students, alumni and staff. We post all job advertisements online, so you can see the latest advertisements even when you are away from Lancaster.

You will also find on the LUMS site a portal to job-hunting and careers resources on the internet.

Continuing support

We offer continuing careers support beyond graduation. Since we use the internet to display job information, alumni can continue to use parts of our MBA careers resources whenever they like. And those without access to the internet can still stay in touch through our regular MBA newsletters.

The most important factor…

We and other business schools frequently encounter misconceptions among MBA students about how they will find their next job. From our extensive knowledge of the global MBA job market we know that most MBA students get their first job after the MBA through their own proactive search efforts, often guided and supported by the business school. This is a very different picture from undergraduate recruitment, much of which happens as a result of on-campus recruitment by large employers. Thus the most important factor by far in getting that first job is you: your personal strengths, your achievements, your previous experience and your determination.
