MBA students at Speaker Day

MBA students at a recent Speaker Day

At LUMS we place great importance on our connections with business and industry – bringing business events to the School, introducing our students to people working in the business sector and offering our expertise and research know-how to inform and benefit the business community.

For MBA students, these business networking events at LUMS present an ideal opportunity for building relationships with practitioners from many different fields. They also bring alive the theory you encounter on the MBA and demonstrate the practical application of strategy in various business arenas.

Some events are hosted by the MBA, while some form part of the programme of other parts of the School – such as the Lancaster Leadership Centre, the Institute for Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Development or the Lancaster Centre for Management in China.

Informal networking opportunities

Within the taught elements of the programme you will also be introduced to many visiting guest speakers and visiting business people – another important way to extend your personal networks.

At various points in the programme you will have the chance to mix with our Executive MBA class, who are typically experienced middle and senior managers in public and private sector companies from across the UK.
