Cultural evening on the MBA

An MBA cultural evening in full swing

A year on the Lancaster MBA is an action-packed one – and a large part of the experience, challenge, learning and enjoyment comes from the time spent with your fellow students. They offer not only a tremendous range of professional and international experience, but also life-long friendships.

The MBA class is a maximum of 90 students, enabling you to get to know each other and members of the faculty far better than you would in a larger class. The range of activities in our Induction Programme allows you to make friends quickly and helps you to settle in.

To get an idea of the sorts of people whom you'll be mixing with on the Lancaster MBA, take a look at our MBA class statistics.

Combining MBA and family life

The Lancaster MBA regularly attracts couples and those coming with young families. Find out how some of those who have recently tackled the programme managed their busy lives in Lancaster.

Syndicate teams

At the start of the programme you will be allocated to a syndicate team. You'll work closely with this group of around 12 students on various occasions throughout the year, though you'll also work in many different groupings throughout the programme. The syndicate teams compete on a number of challenges, both academic and social.

Social life

Lancaster has one of the most extensive range of postgraduate business programmes of any university in the UK. So you will have many opportunities to socialise with students on some of the School's other Masters programmes. Your social life need not be confined to the regular parties and social events organised by your fellow MBAs. You can also join in activities organised through the University's Graduate Students' Association – which provides services and facilities for all the University's postgraduate students.

As an MBA student, you will also be part of the wider community that includes Lancaster MBA alumni. Our Alumni WebBoard enables you to exchange information with our MBA alumni all over the world. As we have now recruited MBAs from more than 80 different countries and LUMS has over 21,000 graduates world-wide, you will be able to tap into an extensive international network of experience and contacts.
