Current MBA exchange schemes with partner schools
Our partnerships with leading international business schools mean that we can currently offer the following international exchanges on the Lancaster MBA:
Monash University
Location: Melbourne, Australia
Timing: mid-June to mid-September
Students complete the Monash Winter School programme and then undertake a project which is supervised and marked by Monash staff
Maximum of two places
Victoria University of Wellington
Location: Wellington, New Zealand
Timing: June to September
Students undertake a company-based project, supervised and marked by the host institution, in place of the Lancaster summer project
Maximum of two places
HEC Montréal
Location, Montreal, Canada
Language requirements: some electives taught in English but French is useful for social purposes
Timing: May to July or May to September*
Courses studied at HEC replace electives at Lancaster and are assessed by HEC
*The exchange can be extended to do a company-based project (in teams of 5-6), finishing in mid-September
Maximum of two places
Lingnan College, Sun Yat-Sen University
Location: Guangzhou, China
Language requirements: fluency in Chinese is desirable, and essential for company-based projects
Timing: June to September
Students undertake an internship or project (either company-based or library-based) which is assessed and supervised by the host institution
Maximum of two places
Guanghua School of Management, Peking University
Location: Beijing, China
Language requirements: classes are taught in English, but basic Mandarin classes are provided
Timing: two weeks in May or June
The 'Doing Business in China' programme is designed for MBA students from around the world and introduces students to the Chinese economy, history and culture
Replaces one Lancaster elective, with assessed work completed during the visit and marked by Guanghua faculty
Maximum of five places
Wirtschaftsuniversität Wien
Location: Vienna, Austria
Language requirements: classes are taught in English, but basic German is advantageous for social purposes
Timing: July to mid-September
Students undertake the International Summer School, followed by a project placement or internship with a local company from August to mid-September
Jointly assessed by WU Vienna and Lancaster
Maximum of three places
EMLYON Business School
Location: Lyon, France
Language requirements: classes are taught in English but a working knowledge of French is desirable for social purposes
Timing: April to May
Electives taken at EMLYON replace the LUMS electives in the Summer Term
Maximum of three places
WHU Otto Beisheim School of Management
Location: Koblenz, Germany
Language requirements: classes are taught in English but some knowledge of German is useful for social purposes
Timing: May-June
Students undertake the International Summer Business Programme in place of two Lancaster electives

SDA Bocconi, Università Commerciale Luigi Bocconi
Location: Milan, Italy
Language requirements: reasonable knowledge of Italian
Timing: September to January (after end of Lancaster programme)
Students undertake up to four courses at Bocconi, which can sometimes include a research-based project, supervised and marked by Bocconi faculty
Graduation takes place in the following year
Maximum of two places
Deusto Business School, Universidad de Deusto
Location: Bilbao, Spain
Language requirements: fluent Spanish is desirable
Language courses are held in Spain, from July to September
Timing: October to January (after the end of the Lancaster programme)
Students undertake two to three courses plus a project, which together replace the Lancaster summer project
Graduation takes place in the following year
Maximum of two places
Universität St Gallen
Location: St Gallen, Switzerland
Language requirements: classes are taught in English, but German is useful for social activities
Timing: October to December (after completion of the Lancaster MBA in September)
Students undertake the International Study Programme which includes an intensive German language course
Does not contribute towards Lancaster MBA award (although a St Gallen certificate is awarded), so participants can still graduate at the normal time
