Making your application

October 2011 entry

Due to unprecedented demand, applications for October 2011 entry for all LUMS full-time Masters programmes are now closed for non UK/European Union applicants. Admissions for 2012 entry will begin in October. Applications are still being accepted from the UK and European Union.

As part of your application, you have to nominate two referees who can comment on your suitability for the programme. The referees should be people who are able to comment on your academic ability and your professional experience.

Please include with your application an official copy of your degree transcript.

Closing date for applications

Entry to the programme is very competitive – typically around 10 - 12 applicants to each place. To maximise your chances of being admitted, we recommend that you apply as early as possible, and certainly before the end of July.

If you wish to be considered for a scholarship or bursary, you must ensure that your application reaches us before the end of May at the latest.

Selection process

The assessment is made on the basis of your application form, including not only your academic background and other qualifications but also your rationale for doing the programme and how it fits with your career plans. It is therefore important that you give careful thought to this part of the application form.

Entrance to Graduate School buildingOffer of a place

All applications are acknowledged as quickly as possible. If we offer you a place, please respond to our offer within three weeks of receiving the formal offer letter. If this is not possible, then please tell us.

If you accept an offer of a place, you will be asked for a deposit to confirm your place. This deposit is later deducted from the tuition fees payable at registration.

Finding out more

For those based outside the UK, there may be opportunities to talk with a member of staff at one of the overseas recruitment fairs we attend – and if you would like to get a student view, a number of our alumni around the world have agreed to act as an informal advisers for the programme.
