FT ranks LUMS PhD 5th in world
Published 28 January 2008
In the 2008 Financial Times ranking of the top global MBA programmes, LUMS is ranked fifth in the world and second in the UK in the 'FT Doctoral Rating'.
The FT's criterion for this rating is 'the number of doctoral graduates from the last three academic years with additional weighting for those graduates taking up a faculty position at one of the top 50 schools in MBA 2007'.
LUMS has one of the largest and best-supported ESRC-recognised PhD (doctoral) programmes in the UK, with academic research in all areas of business and management. The School is equal 1st in the UK for research quality, being one of only 2 schools to have received the top rating of 6* in the UK government's Research Assessment Exercise, and having been at the top of the research ratings for twenty years.
LUMS is a dynamic research environment in which doctoral students play a full and active part. We have over 150 full-time and around 70 part-time PhD students drawn from countries all over the world, and a generous Management School PhD scholarship programme. This Financial Times ranking is another confirmation of the outstanding quality of the research environment at LUMS.
