In this video report Dr Kiran Trehan explains the purpose of the annual discussion event and alumni and current students describe the value the MAMLL programme has for them.

‘Leadership and change’ was the theme for the 6th annual discussion event organised by Lancaster’s Department of Management Learning and Leadership at Lancaster House Hotel on 15 May 2008.

The event brought together leading Lancaster academics with current students and alumni of the department’s flagship part-time programme – the MA in Management Learning and Leadership – or ‘MAMLL’ as it’s known to participants.

The event was an opportunity for applicants to MAMLL to get a feel for what studying management learning at Lancaster will be like, and to talk to current students, alumni and faculty and get their impressions of the programme.

The event was a mixture of presentations about current research issues, panel-style discussions led by current MAMLL students and alumni, and informal networking.

Professor John Burgoyne spoke on 'Beyond the Learning Company - 20 years on', while Professor Judi Marshall introduced some of the ideas she has been working on in 'Leadership for Sustainability'.
