Best paper award for accounting researchers

Professors Peter Pope and Ken Peasnell, of Lancaster's Department of Accounting and Finance, have received a prestigious award from the American Accounting Association.

The American Accounting Association Financial Accounting and Reporting Section's (FARS) selected their paper, "Which Approach to Accounting for Employee Stock Options Best Reflects Market Pricing?", for the 2008 best paper award.

Pope and Peasnell's paper was co-authored with Wayne Landsman (Kenan-Flagler Business School) and Shu Yeh (National Taiwan University).

The FARS best paper award committee, chaired by Linda Bamber, selected the paper from the set of all nominated papers published during the five years from 2004 through to 2008.

The award is in recognition for an outstanding contribution to the accounting research literature.
