The Guardian: 'The party's over'

Research by Dr Maria Piacentini and Dr Emma Banister, of Lancaster's Department of Marketing, is quoted in a Guardian story about the increasing number of students who are avoiding alcohol. Piacentini explains that students "stage-manage their involvement and performance in the alcohol-drinking culture, illustrating the extent to which their non-consumption of alcohol informs their student experience generally. The majority struggle to maintain their anti-consumption stance while remaining a part of the student culture."
