In the FT's 2009 ranking of the world’s top 100 full-time global MBA programmes, the Lancaster MBA is the highest ranked MBA programme on Value for Money in the top 50 schools. During the last four years the Lancaster MBA has been ranked 2nd, 3rd, and twice 4th in the world for Value for Money.

The Financial Times calculates Value for Money using the salary earned by alumni today, course length, fees and other costs (including the opportunity cost of not working for the duration of the course) and also takes into account scholarships offered to the class surveyed (the class of 2005).

The Lancaster MBA scores so well on this dimension because of the keen pricing made possible by the School’s location with living costs much lower than most big-city business schools, because of a competitive scholarship policy, and also because of the substantial rise in salary enjoyed by Lancaster MBA alumni (salaries well over doubled in each of the years surveyed).

In a tough financial environment, all students will want to be sure that the heavy cost of education will pay off. With the decline of the pound against the dollar and many other currencies since the Financial Times calculated these rankings, the Lancaster MBA will have become even better value for money for international applicants for 2009 entry.
