Major Benefits from Integrating Forecasting into the Decision Making Context

Prof. Robert Fildes was a keynote speaker in the Forecasting Track at the German OR Society conference. His theme was that there are major benefits to be gained from integrating forecasting into the decisions facing organisations. Call centre planning offers a particularly interesting example and this was explored by Xi Chen, a doctoral student with the department.
