Analytical Data Mining leads to Improvements in Direct Marketing

Dr. Sven Crone of the Lancaster Centre for Forecasting presented a keynote speech on ‘New research evidence for Data Mining in Direct Marketing’ to over 80 practitioners at the 2008 Conference of the Belgian Association for quantitative Marketing Research (BAQMAR) in Ghent, Belgium. The research contained selected findings from his joint research with Dr. Steve Finlay into imbalanced classification (related to his earlier [presentation at the SAS M2008 conference]), and will also be presented as a keynote speech at the annual UK KDD conference of the British Computer Society (BCS) in Salford, UK.
