Top graduate employers at LUMS

Published 9 February 2010

Over 15 major employers, including Procter & Gamble, Ernst & Young and IBM, were at LUMS on Wednesday 3rd February for the annual ‘Meet the Employers’ careers fair. The event provides a great informal environment in which students can talk to leading graduate recruiters.

Lancaster University’s Centre for Employablity, Enterprise and Careers has run one of the UK’s largest independent careers fairs for many years, and each year there is a Placement Fair at LUMS which brings employers on campus to talk to second year students about sandwich year opportunities.

This is the third year that LUMS has run its own employer fair. It's intended for all students at LUMS – whether they are first-year students just beginning to think about career options, or final years and postgrads actively hunting for jobs.

The event provided students with an exceptional opportunity to find out what to expect from graduate schemes, get advice on how to approach the application process, and to talk one-to-one with recruiters to find out about their opportunities and what qualities and life skills employers are looking for.

The companies attending included Times Top 100 employers as well as several regional firms. The informal atmosphere created a real “buzz” and employers were delighted with the constant stream of interest in their organisations.
