Dr Caroline Gatrell is quoted in a feature in the Independent about changing attitudes to housework: "Both partners want to work, both want to be with the children. The housework is the bit that nobody wants to do, but the burden falls on the women. The figure usually produced is that they do eight hours more housework a week than their partners," says Gatrell.
