Paula Yeadon from Skipton is the first recipient of the Blueprint Scholarship for academic achievement on Lancaster's new undergraduate degree programme, the BSc in Marketing and Design. Paula was presented with her award, worth £1,200, by Rob Day, Managing Director of Blueprint Interiors Ltd, during a recent visit to Lancaster.
Paula, who recently completed her first year on the degree, said: “I am thrilled to have been chosen as the first recipient of this scholarship from Blueprint Interiors. I found the course more than met my expectations of blending business and design disciplines. I have really enjoyed the course and the scholarship recognises all the effort I put into my assignments throughout the year.
“I look forward to continuing my studies with a view to a successful career in marketing and design. To have the scholarship on my CV will be a real asset, so thank you very much to Blueprint Interiors for providing the award.”
Rob Day, Managing Director of Blueprint Interiors Ltd, who graduated in Management Science and Marketing from LUMS in 1985, said: “Lancaster University Management School is a triple-accredited, world-ranked management school, consistently among the UK’s top five. So when Blueprint was offered the chance to help Lancaster University’s new Design and Marketing degree scheme, we jumped at the opportunity to provide our support.
“The Design and Marketing degree aims to develop creative managers for the future. By creating the Blueprint Scholarship for Marketing and Design, we’re providing a real financial incentive to the student who achieves the highest mark in the year, giving them the chance to make a great head-start and to encourage them to enter this industry.”
Dr Jim Freund, the course director, added: “The Blueprint Scholarship is a great reward for the best Marketing and Design students at Lancaster University, helping students to make the most of the intellectual challenges and commercial value of their degree.”
