Published 19 January 2012
Philip Roscoe, who completed his PhD at LUMS in 2007, is one of BBC Radio 3's 'New Generation Thinkers'. Philip’s first talk for Radio 3 was broadcast nationally on 16 January 2012.
In his talk Philip examined the changing role of the entrepreneur and argued that it's possible to see how entrepreneurs become figures for social movements, for the confluence of new technologies and market expectations.
The New Generation Thinkers are winners of the inaugural talent scheme run by BBC Radio 3 and the Arts and Humanities Research Council to find the brightest academic minds in the arts and humanities with the potential to turn their ideas into fascinating broadcasts.
While at Lancaster University Management School, Philip's doctoral research was supervised by Professor Carole Howorth of the Institute for Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Development. Philip is now a lecturer at the University of St Andrews.
