MSc Finance ranks in UK top-ten in latest Financial Times ranking

Lancaster's popular MSc in Finance has been ranked 28th in the world, and 8th in the UK, in the FT’s Masters in Finance Pre-Experience 2012 ranking.
The ranking shows that Lancaster has moved up two places among UK schools, from 10th position last year. The LUMS MSc in Finance is also the top programme in Northwest England.
The average salary of the Lancaster MSc graduates surveyed increased by 4%, compared to the average across the field of all schools surveyed, which fell by 3%. The FT ranking surveys graduates who completed their Masters study in 2009, in order to show career progression three years after graduation.
Professor Mark Shackleton, Head of the Department of Accounting and Finance, said: ‘Our thanks and congratulations go out to the cohort of 2008-2009 for all their hard work and efforts, not just at Lancaster but in the intervening three years during which they have managed to demonstrate significant career achievement.’
Lancaster’s postgraduate programmes in Accounting and Finance have gone from strength to strength in recent years, with the introduction of the new MSc in Financial Analysis and the gaining of CFA partner status. LUMS also runs a unique double-degree MSc Finance programme with Católica-Lisbon School of Business and Economics at Universidade Católica Portuguesa in Lisbon.
